Acknowledging the value of information will help deliver strategic goals in the city by delivering value, promoting innovation and creating opportunities.

Collecting and sharing performance data means that you’re being transparent about the success of services funded by public money and evaluations can easily be made.

Appropriate sharing and re-use of information can add value, improve planning, help inform decision-making and increase organisation agility.

Example Tactics

  • Identify useful metrics and collect the right data.

  • Develop / create appropriate job roles to help maximise the value of information.
    Ensure that legal duties to protect information are discharged. Failing in that duty undermines public trust in services.

  • Design solutions to ensure that different people in the city are able to access and understand information in a way that suits their needs.
