In order to support tagging of services that relate to clinical problems and conditions, a small part of the SNOMED CT clinical terminology was included in the LOOP taxonomy.

These tags represent clinical concepts and can be applied to services or resources in LOOP. Scenarios for using these tags include:

  • Person Held Record (Helm) users searching for resources relating to their conditions/problems.

  • Person Held Record (Helm) system automatically signposting users to targeted services and/or resources depending on the user’s condition.

  • Social prescribers searching for services to support a patient with specific conditions.

  • General Practitioners searching for services to support a patient with specific conditions.

  • Commissioners/researchers looking for coverage of services for a given condition or problem.
