Tagging (services/resources) approval process

Tagging (services/resources) approval process

When a user creates or updates a service or resource they are able to tag it within the ‘Taxonomy’ area.

There are no restrictions on this feature so these updates require careful consideration by users.

The implications for tagging an entry are:

  • The entry will be searchable by this tag by any consuming websites.

  • The tag will be used in filter functionality for consuming websites.

Tag changes are treated in the same way as other data fields. They will be shown in the ‘Update Requests’ page. Because of the points above, approval for tag changes should be considered more carefully as there are implications for consuming websites and systems.

The LOOP Community have agreed that if you do not curate a listing, you should seek approval from the curator before applying tag changes. This can be done by the ‘Update Requests’ list or by an offline process.
